The IWC Aquatimer Automatic 2000m has been given an aggressive overhaul in its black dial and yellow hands making this watch as memorable as it is useful. The 46mm model has its roots in Ferdinand A. Porsche’s 1982 watch designed for mine clearance divers.
The new Aquatimer is water-resistant up to 2,000m, so it can be used by professionals and amateurs alike.
The Aquatimer 2000m also includes IWC’s SafeDive system that IWC introduced in 2014: the dive time is set by an external rotating bezel connected to an internal rotating bezel that only turns anti-clockwise, allowing for use with diving gloves and keeping the turning mechanism in a dry area.
Inside the Automatic 2000 is the in-house 80110 calibre, with a 44 hour power reserve. The price has been set at £7,550.
